Hi,
I am setting up a new reseller account and website - for example "newaccount". Currently they have a site that is in full use elsewhere with domain name & nameservers all pointing to their existing site. I have created the "new" site within WHM and can access cpanel using my IP address / cpanel: i.e http://1.2.3.4/cpanel - then logging in with the user credentials for the "new" site. I can also ftp by entering the IP address in the FTP client and using their new account user/pass. But, is there a way I can access the new site using http (web browser) to test it all out? I have tried: http://1.2.3.4/newaccount/index.htm http://1.2.3.4/newaccount/public_html/index.htm Obviously www.newaccount.com goes to their existing server. I would really appreciate some help on this one - any clues please? Thanks JPJW |

One way that works quite well is to set up a temporary subdomain that you can use to access the account.
First, log in to your reseller WHM control panel. Go to the DNS Functions section and then 'Park a Domain'. Select the account you'd like to park on (newaccount.com) and then park a temporary subdomain. Your temporary subdomain can use your main domain or another domain hosted on your server. For instance we might park newaccount.freevirtualservers.com on newaccount.com. Once that's done you can then visit the new address at http://newaccount.freevirtualservers.com/ Note that any absolute links to newaccount.com will lead away from your test site and back to the actual website! Once you're happy with the site you can then point newaccount.com at the server and perform a little cleanup by unparking newaccount.freevirtualservers.com. If you have any trouble doing this please contact us via the helpdesk. Tom |

I don’t usually reply to posts but I will in this case. Thank you for all the information.
